1971 Plymouth Cricket Sedan

This 1971 Plymouth  Cricket Sedan was the  first new car I ever "owned." I was away at college when my parents bought this end- of-the-year 4-cylinder, automatic snail for me to drive. They traded in my Valiant wagon for this.  Not that I didn't like it, but... remember Don McLean singing "American Pie?" Well, this wasn't a piece of American Pie by any stretch of the imagination. Imported from England by Chrysler to sell as an entry-level Plymouth, it was very difficult to get running, and eventually my Grandmother and I swapped.   I took her '63 Valiant and gave her this to drive. First and only automatic transmission car she ever drove or owned for that matter. This photo is in New York State in the Finger Lakes region one wintry January day in 1971.
