began its life destined to be a Fire Engine, but the company that ordered it did not have the funds to pay for it ($600 U.S.). Can you imagine? My grandfather bought it as a cab and chassis, red with black fenders and running boards. He then had a custom stake body made and added to it. My Dad added after market turn signals, clearance lamps, and WestCoast style mirrors ( not shown in this photo) as well as adding an electric heater from a 1947 Plymouth.
